Our aim:  to proclaim God’s glory as one body, displaying the life and love of Jesus

Charlotte's journey to faith

I didn’t grow up in a Christian family.

The first time I learned about Jesus and God was at school really, but still it didn’t mean that much to me.

Then I started to go to Holiday Club with my friend, Laura. This got me more interested in the idea of being a Christian and helped me work out who Jesus is.

This interest grew when I started helping out with the Sunday School three years ago. But I guess the time when I actually decided to become a Christian was when I went to Spring Harvest. I was prayed for and there was a feeling of something coming into my life – the Holy Spirit. Ever since then my faith has grown and grown.

Jesus has helped me through the good and bad times.

As I told some of my friends a year ago, my faith is very important to me and I feel it is an amazing gift from God – but it is also a responsibility.

You have to put effort in too.

You have to show and share faith with everyone else in everything you do and say.

So this is why I’m being baptised today - to show all my friends and family how important being a Christian is to me and how committed I am to God too!

Text of the year (a command from Jesus)
