Our aim: to proclaim God’s glory as one body, displaying the life and love of Jesus
Gary: the story so far.
At school I was football crazy and always in trouble.
When I left I played goalie for Wycombe Wanderers for ten years.
I needed to have a day job too
(they were amateurs then).
So I became a printer.
It was at ‘Spring Harvest’ in 1996 that I realised that Christianity is gospel true.
And it changed my life.
I looked to see how my particular ‘gifts’ could be used in God’s Kingdom.
That’s how I started printing gospels for Romania.
That’s expanded and expanded.
Booklets are now printed in Romania, for Hungary too.
What started as Seer Ministries has grown, and is changing.
I spent time last summer in Romania.
In the villages they’re really keen on football.
They’ll play on any boulder strewn hill side!
In the bigger towns things are changing fast.
There are huge well-stocked super super markets, good roads and EEC funds a-plenty.
By contrast the villages are virtually forgotten.
With the churches' help we'd meet the kids.
Coach their football skills all morning,
prepare them for the afternoon matches,
and tell them of the love of Jesus in the interval.
In April 2008 I moved to live in Romania.
I’m planning to be involved with the village kids in ‘Football evangelism’ in the summer, (8 bookings to date) and help the printers get a well earned break in the winter.
PS. My wife, Annie, already speaks Hungarian, but I’m not looking forward to our first month’s crash course in Romanian.
